Abun-Dance
November 2, 2010
How are you FEELING today? It’s November 2nd and I feel a real sense of excitement deep within. Of course – if you live in the US today is the day you can make your opinion count by going to the polls.
So today the Angel of Abundance tells us that a steady flow of abundance is about to manifest. This is due to the fact that in the past few months we have been willing to give and receive in equal measure. True abundance shows up when we love and value ourselves as much as we love and value those around us. Keep an open heart and mind and be open to receiving and giving freely. Accept all the abundance the universe is offering you in the clear knowing that you DESERVE it!!
Remember to DANCE…
Opportunities
October 31, 2010
Good Morning!
So I have not been as diligent in posting a reading here as I said I was going to be – sometimes it takes a bit of time to get into a new routine!!
I’ve drawn a few cards from different decks this morning to see what it is I need today… There seems to be a common theme about the opportunity of letting go of the past in order to embrace the new. Trusting that there is always divine guidance and support all around us.
The Angel of Communication indicates a major life lesson in learning to communicate clearly what it is you want. Assuming that those around you GET it or know what it is you need does not work for you… truth is they do not unless you clearly let them know.
When you fail to communicate clearly, people around you can end up confused and trying to guess what you want, feel or expect.
There is nothing to lose by clearly stating your truth – you don’t need to blame or accuse others in order to speak your truth – just state your case clearly.
For today – take the OPPORTUNITY to release ties to the past… letting room for the new.
Happy Wednesday!
October 27, 2010
Hello there! It’s been such a very long time since I took some time to write anything here… thought it was a good time to say HELLO!!
I am feeling a little tired this morning and perhaps a wee bit emotional still. I KNOW that my not getting elected in the local elections (I ran for a position of councillor) was not meant to be and that it is because there are bigger and better things in store for me! But I have to admit that it did affect me a little emotionally
. I’m fine really, just good for me to acknowledge what the feelings are.
So here I am finally writing in my own blog – my intention is to do a card reading and basically expand upon what I was doing on Facebook a few months ago. This time with a wee bit of a different focus. In the past I was drawing a card after asking my deck (Guides/Angels/Spirit, etc.) what the world needed to know. This time I will be asking what do I need to know? The reasoning behind this is that what I need to know will always resonate with a very large percentage of people reading this…’cause we are all connected – right!?!
So – for today, the ANGEL OF GUIDANCE tells me (us) that a renewed sense of direction and purpose will soon manifest! (Isn’t that awesome in light of what I mentioned above). She acknowledges that we have been feeling a wee bit lost and confused of late. She invites us to breath calmly and deeply and envisage, feel and imagine a healing, calming and clarifying light swell from the heart centre. Feel it expand out from you, surrounding you in a rainbow of light. While you envisage a path through a beautiful garden which you are walking on. This is your life path – see the wonderful twists and turns up in front of you.
Know that you are ALWAYS on the right path, whether you know it or not. This is not for us to figure out – time to simply trust and surrender to the guidance of this powerful angel. Trust and love… all will become clear, you will get your sense of purpose back very soon!
Need help with your New Year’s Resolutions?
December 29, 2009
At this time of year, people often look at making charges, setting resolutions and becoming determined to become healthier, wealthier and more successful. However, if you continue doing the same things you have done in the past and expect a different outcome – you will become discouraged and convince yourself you cannot change.
I invite you to consider a new approach to your goals and dreams – consider hypnosis (or hypnotherapy).
Hypnosis works by addressing your health and wellness issues on a subconscious level, changing the way you see and think about yourself, and about the way you think about how you are taking care of your body.
What is hypnosis?
Unlike what the stage show version of hypnosis portrays, there is not any magic involved. In fact, you are often actually in a hypnotic state in everyday life. For example: you are out shopping with a friend and you see a piece of furniture you like. You begin to picture what it would look like in your living room (and what your spouse would say if you bought it) and you become so lost in the daydream that you are startled when you realize your friend is talking to you.
You have experienced the first level of hypnosis; you left the upper level of analytical, conscious, active thinking and were open to suggestion.
So how does hypnosis work?
If you think of your mind in three distinct parts — the conscious mind, the ego mind (which holds our beliefs) and the subconscious mind. When someone thinks that they are not good enough – it does not matter how much or how often they are told otherwise… their mind defaults to the ego mind and thus the belief that they are not good enough. The purpose of hypnosis is to go to the subconscious mind and set up a new, healthy, proactive belief system which is based upon what the client wants.
When I work with clients looking to lose (release) weight, I combine suggestions to eat smaller portions of healthy food together with suggestions of boosted self-confidence and self esteem. In many diet programs the “feeling good” aspect happens after one looks good; in hypnotherapy the client is encouraged to feel good about themselves, with successful weight loss as an valued addition to those good feelings.
Will hypnotherapy make you embarrass yourself?
You never lose the ability to make your own choices (during hypnosis). Therefore if you were given a suggestion that went against your morality or ethics, you just would not respond and would potentially come right out of hypnosis.
So how many sessions do I require?
There are different recommendations out there on how long to continue for maximum benefit. I recommend four live sessions, scheduled a week apart and listening to a self hypnosis recording every day between appointments. Some clients like to return after 6 months or so to “freshen up” where others find that the self hypnosis recording keeps them on track.
What else can hypnotherapy be used for?
In my experience – hypnotherapy is a powerful tool which allows a client to release unhealthy habits and beliefs and take on empowering new behaviours and lifestyles. This includes weight loss; chronic pain management; anxiety; depression; fear; quitting smoking; stopping nail biting; increasing self confidence & self esteem, and much more.

A Journey Through Fear
June 24, 2009
It’s been a while since I have felt inspired to write here — I have been caught up in some extreme business recently to do with further establishing my business and my practice… some of the busy-ness has been very productive but some has not and I am happy to say that I have allowed myself to feel my way through what is productive (and rewarding) busy-ness and what is in fact an energy drain and therefore not what I want for myself!
I wanted to share an experience (now that I have journeyed through it!!) in which I sat in a massive dose of FEAR.
It has been over two years since I had a complete physical check-up with a Doctor. So now that my husband and I have found a family doctor we are both being sent for a number of specialist tests, blood work, etc. etc. One of my tests was a mammogram. About a week after my appointment, I was called and told that I had to go back for a second mammogram and some other tests. ![]()
The nurse told me not to worry – there was nothing wrong, they just needed to re-do the tests. I used to run a medical office many years ago and I know what office staff can and cannot say when doing re-call phone calls. So I totally disregarded what she said and I burst into tears when I went and told my husband about being re-called.
My follow up appointment was 5 days after the phone call and I was intrigued by my own process of waiting. The only person that I told was my husband – it felt that if I shared with other people that they would join me in this fear sense and I did not want to create more of that. I found myself asking WHY and then remembered my own advise of turning WHY questions into WHAT. That was very powerful and extremely beneficial… by the time I got to the appointment I was completely at peace and ready to receive whatever information they were going to give me.
I know that nothing happens by accident and I do like to work out where the gifts are… this experience was a wonderful gift which allowed me to sit in a very fearful place without getting stuck there. My lesson here is not to resist any situation or environment… the more flowing, fluid and at peace I can be – the more all is as it is supposed to be!

P.S. Turns out that due to some hormonal changes in my body – I have some dense tissue areas which is what was flagged up to be checked out closer (and she takes a deep breath!!)
Story Busting
May 18, 2009
I am doing some work on myself right now about changing my perception of what is going on for me internally and externally… what is so much fun is that I am finding that I am doing similar work with clients right now too. I really love witnessing how I seem to attract people, environments and occurrences which not only deepen my own process but help to witness potential outcomes and choices.
The other day, I was co-facilitating a pain management group – I am so very proud and honoured to watch these people bare their souls and reach for deepening understanding and relief without turning to popping pain pills and dumbing down the experience. I am not knocking the fact that there are times when pain medication is necessary but my own philosophy is that it is only a stop gap measure to allow me to get enough strength physically and emotionally to take apart the story I am telling myself at that moment.
Have you heard of Byron Katie? I really love her work and find myself using a number of her processes and suggestions in my own practice… it really goes such a long way to facilitating the breaking apart of limiting beliefs and acknowledging that you are the author of the story you are in.
Basically what you do when you find yourself stuck is to check in with yourself and get a handle on what the story is — then you ask – 1) is it true? and then you ask 2) do you know beyond the shadow of a doubt that it is true? now ask 3) How do I react when I think that thought? and finally 4) Who would I be without the thought.
What I have described above is the investigative phase – the next phase is to turn it around (so for example — “He doesn’t listen to me” could become “I don’t listen to him” OR “I don’t listen to me”. This is powerful stuff and can sometimes be a little tricky on your own — but with a wee bit of practice, you can find yourself in the middle of a story and completely turn it around.
It’s all about staying in the NOW and allowing things to happen the way they are rather than creating them through a story or belief that no longer serves the environment or situation. I am a firm believer in allowing the story to be fully investigated first – it is one of the best ways to hold up to the light what is going on… when you see the light starting to shine through (i.e. knock holes in limiting beliefs and extinct operating practices!!) — that is when you know that some great healing is happening.
So what do you do when you are in pain? Do you have a process? I’d love to hear about it!

Motivation
May 15, 2009
I have been observing what motivates me and what does not. I have often been told things like ‘you are so lucky to have such determination’ or ‘I just do not have the will power you do’ or ‘I wish I could be as disciplined as you are’… all of these statements are lovely accolades but it is rather amusing to me in some ways too — I am surprised that this is how some people see me.
You see, although I have strong motivation… I am aware of derailing myself – my good intentions can slip and I skip a day (or even a week sometimes) in my exercise routine… I occasionally drink a wee bit more than I’d intended or stay up much later than is good for my health. BUT I do not let the occasional lapse (or derailment!!) to haunt me or even shape a ‘new’ version of me.
To me, motivation is all about relating to yourself with integrity – so if you say to yourself ‘tomorrow I will get up at 6:00 and do my exercise routine and write in my journal’ – and then when the alarm goes off you reset it and fall back asleep until 8:00 and you keep doing that day in and day out… your cellular learning is that “she never keeps her word so nothing will change and we are stuck here”.
Having said that, it is also important to allow the messages to come and be given credence – so for instance if you intended to get up at 6:00 and when you awoke you realized that all of your muscles are still on fire from that tough workout you did yesterday and so your body is just needing a bit more rest – then go ahead and reset the alarm (although I still think that it is important to allow some journal time!!) and perhaps set aside some time for 30 mins of yoga later in the day.
I have written in a journal on and off since my late teens… but recently I am finding that it is essential to my motivation levels – I guess in some ways it is a vehicle in which I am allowing myself to be my own personal accountability partner – it allows for real heart felt self connection. So even when I experience something that does not completely resonate or feels like a looming problem – I allow myself to park the feeling and work it out in my journal.
What motivates me will not necessarily motivate you but in the grand scheme of things – self care is all about allowing yourself to live, receive and enjoy all of the gifts, joys and wondrous experiences that are there for you – if your physical, emotional and spiritual self is not in alignment you may find that you feel like you are missing something and strive to fill that space with something that does not really support you… this can be a belief system, a physical practice or just a feeling about how you relate to the rest of the world.

Remembering to Play
May 13, 2009
You know – for most of my adult life I have worked very hard… plowing forward to reach that destination, the goal, achievement – I have allowed myself to be at the mercy of my environment much more than I sometimes care to admit to. Then I started expanding my awareness of self. I have chosen this life and all of the people who I interact with are playing the part I asked them to.
At certain times, that idea seems a little too much to take on board
That knee jerk reaction of wanting to assign responsibility or wriggle out of a commitment still bubbles to the surface. The difference for me now is that I feel it coming and I recognize what is going on for me – which then allows me to take action (or care) to ensure that I am operating from the aligned part of me.
I have started drumming (African style drum called a Djembe) on a regular basis. The drum sound is amazingly therapeutic but so much fun. I realized yesterday that I have taken to actually booking these sessions in my daytime and I feel good about doing that.
Even in checking in with myself – you know wondering ‘don’t you feel like you need to be PRODUCTIVE’ or ‘these sessions are during your usual business hours’. About a year ago – it would not have happened as I would not have allowed myself to put that much of a priority on having a fun session – a play date ![]()
Back to the concepts of the Law of Attraction – it is all about experiencing and expressing JOY which comes from having fun!! I must admit, I do have a lot of fun doing the work that I do… but the fun I am talking about here is all out – no responsibilities, just for the FUN of it. When you can get and stay in that space, it is easy to find that everything in your life is perfect the way it is right now!! Of course it also gets you into the perfect ALLOWING space for your dreams and desires to start landing in your lap.
So what do you do for fun? How often do you PLAY? What would more play and fun feel like to you?

Breathing in the Blessings
May 11, 2009
I had a fabulous weekend!! Hope you did too!
For months I have been working on promoting my business – both on line (for coaching and readings) and in person for people to physically come and see me. I live in a rural area – we moved here 1.5 yrs ago and I have been finding re-building my practice a wee bit of a challenge. My previous practice was in a large city and I was very busy.
So a couple of weeks ago I started thinking that it would be good for me to arrange a room rental for 1-2 days in a more populated area. There was a wonderful healing centre that I heard about (about 1-hr drive from me) and I loved the idea of renting space there… but then I was told they did not have any more space… So I felt like that was not meant to be.
Then I met a lovely girl who was in the process of setting up a healing centre (also about an hour drive away) – we talked and agreed that there was a good fit between us and it was left that she would contact me with room rates, paperwork, etc.
When I did not hear from her I wondered if this was just another opportunity that was not meant to be. Have you ever noticed that when you do not receive information or contact from someone – the assumptions and reactions that occur are usually of a more negative tone.
So here is what happened – on Saturday I went to the city that the first healing centre is (it’s called Lotus Wings!!) — I had been invited to go to the grand opening of the farmers market to do free Thai Massage mini-sessions for the mothers! It sure was a lot of fun – I really love working with people who would not necessarily come for a treatment like that – it is a fantastic way to raise awareness and allow people to try something new!
Anyway – I met a massage therapist there who told me that the owners of Lotus Wings had heard that I was there and they were going to come down to meet me!! So we did and the connection was awesome – so now I will be practicing in a room there once a week starting next week!! I am very excited.
When I got home yesterday the other healing centre contacted me and still wants to go ahead with our agreement but it will take a wee bit longer as she is still dealing with logistics.
Just wanted to share my excitement with you… Allowing and being open to receiving is very important to me – but I am also aware of impatience in me – what happened over the weekend just goes to show that things really do happen with Divine Right Timing.

Noticing
May 8, 2009
So today I am feeling much more energetic — the realization and connection to my own inner guidance really helped rejuvenate and re-focus where I am.
Something occurred to me this morning as I was doing my exercise routine – I am starting to feel tighter in my abs, steadier on my feet and more IN my body. I think that this is important to be able to access the totality of my body’s wisdom. When I do not look after all aspects of what my body needs (sleep – physical activity and nourishment) that is when I do not always pay attention or GET the gentle nudges, intuitive hits and messages that come through for and about me.
I have often said things like, my body is a sacred vessel, it is a vehicle from which I can experience all of the JOY life has to offer and allows me to make choices, to play and have fun. Recently I started using a WII Fit as part of my physical fitness regime… what a wonderful tool – I found that initially my balance was very shaky and that I put much more weight on my right side, thus creating an imbalance and causing undue stress and strain.
For the last week I have been working on balance and core strengthening, using the coaching tips from the WII Fit… it felt strange at first (my abs hurt and I felt like I was standing squint!!). Now I am feeling much more centered and stronger from the core – I still need to keep working on this but I realized how much more aware I am of myself as an energetic being as well as being in this physical body.
You see, by developing core strength, good posture and balance I am much more aware and in contact with the energy centers that are often the seat of the inner wisdom (or gut feeling). The first one is located just below the sternum (solar plexus). This energy center is said to regulate the body’s life force energy, mental activity and self-empowerment. The second energy center is just below the belly button (sacral) and is said to offer us the opportunity to lessen our “control issues” and find a balance in our lives. It also deals with the yin/yang balance within us.
So now exercise and physical activity can take on much more of a meditation in motion sensation or an avenue of developing self awareness and awakening even more to the depth and breadth of the wisdom and gifts that are there waiting to be unlocked, viewed and used!!

Moira
