What does having a spiritual relationship mean to you? It’s been said that every person in the world is connected to each other in so many ways. Even with a single activity that one person does, it can totally change the lives of others, even those she does not know personally.
This is what relationships are. There are a numbeer of different kinds of relationships that we share with one another, one type of relationship is of the spiritual kind. This kind of relationship basically aims for the greatest good for every person involved. It totally transcends every tangible being and matter upon the earth and envelops people with the sole purpose of achieving higher things in life.
Disregarding The Physical State
There are many ways by which people may cultivate a spiritual relationship with another being or with other people. Generally, you need to understand that as a human being, you are not just created with a physical body.
So, instead of concerning yourself mainly with your physical being, you should remember that your spirituality is much more important. And in order to see your life in a very different perspective wherein you can truly say that you are capable of cultivating a spiritual relationship with another, simply take into account making your spirit and your mind much healthier and richer instead of concentrating on satisfying your physical body with worldly and material things.
Having Free Will
The second thing which you need to understand is that as a human being; you are entitled to your own free will. This means that you have total control of your life. However, this idea is often not as simple as it may seem; you do have to have control of your mind and consciousness at all times.
Having free will means that in every situation we are in, it is vital that we find some choices on how we should respond to such a situation. We can therefore have either a positive or a negative response; it totally depends on how we react to circumstances. It is when you believe in the spiritual relationship that you are in, that you will know what your choice will be.
Avoid Judging Other
The third thing that you should keep in mind in order to cultivate a healthy spiritual relationship with other people is to avoid judging others. It is definitely important that you do not judge others as if they are much less than you are for the fact that every human being is created with the same image and likeness as Source.
Bear in mind that the moment you judge, you will automatically develop an egotistic mind that will absolutely produce negative thoughts and therefore, lead you to negative actions and pursuits.
Accepting Others For Who They Are
The fourth thing which you need to do in order to fulfill a spiritual relationship with other human beings is to be able to accept not only yourself but other people for who they truly are. It is imperative that we accept one another for growth to truly come about to each and every person involved in the relationship.

Finding that balance is such an essential Moira. For years I completely ignored the physical and focused on the spiritual. Didn’t work out so well and yet focusing completely on the physical left me feeling empty (if a bit thinner!). Thanks, as always for bringing so much juicy goodness to the world.
Thanks MamaRed… yes balance is so key! It’s important to look after ourselves mind-body-spirit & emotional well-being. I find when one aspect goes out of balance it’s really important to look at ways of bringing balance back in (for instance – did you know that even a 3-min meditation is good for the soul!)
You are a breath of fresh air! Thanks for posting!
Thank you so much! You made my day light up.
Such an inspiring and lovely post, Moira! Great insight! Balance is key. 🙂
Thanks Alexandra!
Thanks for sharing, Moira. Achieving balance is essential, but often the most difficult step.
Yes – very true Tom! Thanks for reading my article.
Knowing that we have free will is very important and when we know that we have choice, it opens up possibilities. Wonderful strategies for cultivating spiritual relationships, Moira!
Thanks Sherie – yes choices and choosing are powerful motivations!
Informative post Moira. Judging others is more a reflection of the person judging than the person being judged.
That’s so very true Meryl… judging others is always a form of judging oneself!
I love this post because I am such a spiritual seeker. Everything happens on the spiritual plane. The physical world is simply the reflection of your spiritual state. Choice is always in our own hands!
Well put Martha – choice is always ours and that’s what makes us such powerful creators!
Thanks for sharing Moira, self reflection is key, it opens up many doors.
I agree – self reflection leads to awareness and opportunities!
Great article. I love the positivity. I think people judge others because they are not happy with themselves:)
Well said Daniele – I completely agree that when people judge others – it’s an indication of their own happiness levels.
This is wonderful! I especially loved these two: “And in order to see your life in a very different perspective wherein
you can truly say that you are capable of cultivating a spiritual
relationship with another, simply take into account making your spirit
and your mind much healthier and richer instead of concentrating on
satisfying your physical body with worldly and material things.” and “Having free will means that in every situation we are in, it is vital
that we find some choices on how we should respond to such a situation.
We can therefore have either a positive or a negative response; it
totally depends on how we react to circumstances.” Your other two are equally important – gosh – this post has such a powerful message. Thank you!
Thanks so much Lisa! I’m glad you liked this post… Isn’t it amazing to see what power we actually do have over what happens in our lives – it’s really all about deepening awareness, taking responsibility and making choices.
I really like this, Moira. It ties in with so much that I’ve been thinking and feeling recently. Powerful stuff. Thank you!
Glad to hear that! Thanks for visiting my blog.
Once you recognize that we are all interconnected energetically, it’s easier to understand the harm we do to ourselves … and to everyone else … when we do harm to another. Granted, it’s a struggle in our everyday lives to remember this. 😉 Your points are so perfectly grounded, Moira!
Thanks Sharon – reminders and trust that things DO shift and change is the key isn’t it!
As I was reading all I kept hearing in my mind was “We are all related”. When you judge someone else, you are judging yourself too because we are all related. If more people would remember this, the world would be a much nicer place. Thanks Moira!
Thanks Helena! Yes – we ARE all related… and sometimes when you become more aware of your own judgements, it can be a catalyst to heal what’s going on within and therefore helps the whole family!
I think it is important to work on not grabbing hold of judgments of others because our mind will sometimes judge others, the important thing is to not hold on to it. To be aware of the judgment and let it float through one’s awareness.
Accepting others for who they are is very important because we are all different and are own unique journeys. Mostly everyone is the same. They just want to be loved for who they are.

I agree with you there Sebastian – the truth is our minds do often judge others but I believe when we judge another, it is actually a judgement of something we cannot (or do not want to) see within ourselves.
Accepting everyone (including ourselves) as we are is the important piece here and when something we do not like comes up we can just allow it to shift through as just another perspective.
That is true. We tend to judge harshly in others what we don’t like in ourselves. Yeah that is important because it isn’t wise to hold onto judgments of others because whatever mood you were in that day would have greatly affected the judgment.
What you say is so true Sebastian – we see others and situations through what ever filters we have going in that moment… whether we are in a good mood or not affects what and how we see things.
