Bipolar Disorder

Bipolar disorder refers to a condition in which a person experiences extreme changes to their moods, energy levels, and behavior. These episodes can last for days or weeks at a time. You must seek help if you are experiencing bipolar disorder symptoms because the consequences of not doing so could be dire.

One of the most common signs of this mental health issue is when an individual suddenly switches between feeling too high (abnormally “high” or euphoric) to abnormally low (depressed).

Sometimes, these drastic shifts even happen within hours, making it extremely difficult for people with bipolar disorder to function generally throughout each day. In addition, there may be periods where they feel like they cannot get out of bed due to depression or that everything is going downhill due to how euphoric/high they feel.

These symptoms can affect the person’s relationships, career, and overall quality of life. Thankfully, there are treatments for bipolar disorder, such as psychotherapy (cognitive-behavioral therapy) and medication that could help people manage their mood changes more effectively.
