Have you been struggling in finding what you love to do?
Some people take years and years to realize what they really love to do and where they want to take their journey. It would be of great benefit to know the essentials to finding your passion before getting thrown off course on your life path.
It’s not always easy to know what you’d really like to do for the rest of your life! There are people who end up pursuing a very unlikely path while exploring what they really want to achieve whenever (and if!) they have time for it. The reason for such a circuitous course is that for some, they can only get clear on their passion after they’ve experienced several failures.
To help you get at the heart of your passion in life, here are a few tips…
1. Look outside of yourself.
Determine what or who inspires you to achieve the goals you have in mind. They can be your loved ones or a specific person that encourages you to be better. What are the physical objects that create some kind of spark and enhances your motivation to move forward? Use these objects and people to discover within yourself what it is that you really want to have happen. Make a list of the people, places or things that come to mind when thinking of what or who inspires you. Sometimes looking outside of ourselves is the best way to take a step toward seeing within more clearly :).
2. Think happy thoughts.
Reminisce about the times when you were most happy in your life. What brought about such happiness? What made you happy? And while you are at it… think about when was the last time when you experienced such a happy moment. If it’s been a long time – what can you do right now to capture that feeling?
3. Re-inspire yourself.
Sometimes, you need to go back to the things that ignited your passion in the past. Read your favorite book. This may be a great time to find inspiration by reading through self-empowerment books or articles. This is can be of great support especially if you can’t talk to anyone about what is making you feel stuck or out of sorts.
4. Get unstuck.
If you are stuck in a job that you dislike and your only reason your there is for money… you’ll have a harder time in getting to know where your real passion lies. You may want to look back at the point before you entered this job. What were you back then or what were you thinking to achieve at that point? If you have already saved enough, you may want to consider quitting your current job. This way, you can allot more time in pursuing the things that you really want. Or at least come up with a plan of action which will allow you to give meaning to why you are doing the work you are in now.
5. Be open to possibilities.
You have to be open to whatever possibilities life brings you. You need to expect more than already have in order for you to reach the next level… This can sometimes require that you step out of your comfort zone – BUT – that’s where the magic lies! You can achieve this by being bold enough to take one risk at a time. It doesn’t matter how big or small it is. Once you start following your heart to reach to the point where you are truly happy, fulfilled and at peace, you are on the right track. And finding your passion will be so much easier – in fact it will be right in front of you.

This list really has it all. It makes an often OVERWHELMING decision less so. Great message! With so many peoples’ lives now ‘different’ than they were a few years ago, I hope many people take these steps to heart. : )
Love your message on finding your passion, Moira! Being open to possibilities and stepping out of your comfort zone…right on!
I love “re-inspire yourself”. Sometimes we get so caught up in the day-to-day that we need reminders of what really makes us tick! ๐

Great tips, Moira. I agree if you are in a dead end job it’s harder to get the passion flowing. There are so many inspiring people around us that can jump start what purpose burns inside us. Thanks!
Very inspiring post, Moira. I especially liked # 3: Re-Inspire Yourself…”Sometimes, you need to go back to the things that ignited your passion
in the past. Read your favorite book. This may be a great time to find
inspiration by reading through self-empowerment books or articles.” I do this every day and what a difference it makes. I find I am even more inspired, creative and focused when I go back to working on what I was. Thanks!
